On Thursday, April 3rd, Urban Dove honored Neil Hernandez, Commissioner of the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Youth Staff Tifanni Braunson. Unlike past events, this year’s Evening with the Dove allowed guests to mingle during an enjoyable cocktail reception followed by a seated dinner. This new format added a new level of elegance and sophistication to the already well attended fundraiser. The evening not only impressed those in attendance, but raised nearly $200,000 for Urban Dove’s programs.
City Chase New York raises over $17,000 for Urban Dove’s programs. On Saturday, September 13th, 2008 over a thousand Chasers competed in the World's Largest Urban Adventure Series called City Chase New York. This event, the largest City Chase event ever, turned the Big Apple into a giant obstacle course as teams of two navigated their way around New York City competing in over 30 physical, mental and humorous challenges. Urban Dove was chosen as the charity beneficiary for the New York event, which raised over $17,000 for our program serving at-risk youth. Many of the students involved with the Urban Dove program also volunteered for the event managing various chasepoint challenges. Urban Dove is truly appreciative for all the support we received from participants of the City Chase New York.
2008 Urban Dove Corporate Softball Challenge Fundraiser Hits a Home Run  On Thursday, June 26, 2008, in Central Park, Urban Dove held its fourth annual Softball Challenge, pairing some of New York City's largest corporations with Urban Dove teenagers in a tournament to benefit Urban Dove's youth programs. Twelve teams battled it out for the title of 2008 Corporate Softball Challenge Champion. Major sponsor participants included, Morgan Stanley, the New York Mets, Clayton, Dublier & Rice, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, NYMEX Charitable Foundation, Lehman Brothers, Debevoise & Plimpton and PricewaterhouseCoopers. This year’s champion was Debevoise & Plimpton and the runner up was Goldman Sachs. The event raised over $120,000, the most ever for this event.
